How to Report a Scam Message

Flag a message as a scam directly from Discord so PhishFence can learn from it and improve detections across all servers.

5 steps

1

Add PhishFence to your account first

Important

Before you can use the Report Scam command, you need to authorise PhishFence as a user-installed app. Open the bot's profile, click 'Add App', then choose 'Add to my Apps'.

You only need to do this once — after that, the command is available in every server, even ones where the bot isn't installed.

2

Right-click the suspicious message

Action

Hover over the message you want to report and click the three-dot (⋯) menu, or on mobile long-press the message to open the context menu.

3

Select Apps → Report Scam

Action

From the context menu, hover over 'Apps' to expand the submenu. Click 'Report Scam' — PhishFence will process the message and confirm the report.

The confirmation is ephemeral (only you can see it) and disappears after a few seconds.

4

That's it — PhishFence handles the rest

Info

The report is sent to the detection pipeline. If the message matches patterns seen across other servers, detection rules are updated automatically.

5

Only report genuine scams

Important

False reports degrade detection quality for everyone. Only use this for messages you're confident are scams — phishing links, fake giveaways, crypto fraud, impersonation, etc.
